OpenSIM on the JBOX!

Well, I finally compiled OpenSIM on a Ubuntu Linux machine and am now running 9 regions hosted on a Via Technologies Mini-ITX machine. The server is running in stand-alone mode until I finish construction on the parcels. At some point I’ll set up a grid server and make the grid available to the public. I’m also planning to port OpenSIM to the ARM Cortex processor so I can run grid functions and databases on several SheevaPlugs. I’ll post info on the porting status to this blog. There are lots of features to explore before I set the final configuration. For more information on OpenSIM visit If you need help building on Ubuntu please feel free to contact me any time!
